After a toasty day in Venice yesterday, we are once again all packed and headed off to the cars to start our journey down to Rome!

Yesterday we got up early(ish) for a wander round the markets and picked up some tasty fresh grapes and croissants for breakfast, before heading out to explore the city.

We visited the bustling, beautiful St Mark's Square before settling down to a lovely lunch back at the apartment from Venice's first toasty bar, and oh boy were they some good toasties! We then hopped on a bus boat out to the island of Lido where we enjoyed a swim and some down time in the gorgeous sunshine on the sandy beaches that go on for miles.

On the way back to the apartment we paused for a moment to take in the calming atmosphere of St Mark's Square at night, where different bands play around the square, entertaining visitors with well known and classical songs that echo around the buildings. -S
